Advanced Setup for Surveillance Center

An overview of Surveillance Center's various settings.

1. Surveillance Center Settings - Camera


1.1 Adjusting camera settings

STEP 1

  • Using your Web browser on Windows, log in to ADM using an administrator account.
  • Double-click on the Surveillance Center icon.
  • Select [Settings] [Camera] to enter the camera list screen.


STEP 2

  • Select the camera that you want to adjust and then click on the [Edit] button.
  • You can then edit the basic settings, recording format and recording schedule for the camera.



1.2 Maintenance

You can preserve camera settings by exporting them to folders on the NAS which not only provides a backup, but also allows for the easy deployment of camera settings to other Surveillance Center installations.

  • Select [Settings] [Maintenance]




2. Surveillance Center Settings - Privilege


2.1 Configuring user privileges

  • System administrators all possess the right to log into Surveillance Center. If you wish to grant other users the access rights to access Surveillance Center, please go to [Access Control] [App Privileges] in ADM.
  • Surveillance Center access rights are categorized into the "Manager" and "Viewer" roles. Users who possess "Manager" privileges are able to access and use all functions while "Viewers" only able to use the Live View and Playback functions.
  • Other than the administrators account, all other users will be set to "Viewer" by default. If you wish to configure user privileges, please select [Settings] [Privilege] [Edit Role] from within Surveillance Center.




3. Surveillance Center Settings - Notification


3.1 Event notification

You can configure Surveillance Center to immediately send you notifications when events occur.


STEP 1

  • If you wish to use the event notification feature please select [Settings] [Notification].


Note: To enable notification services, please log in to ADM and add a sender account (e-mail/SMS) in the [Notification] section under [Settings].


STEP 2

  • Use the "E-mail" or "SMS" tabs to configure the e-mail accounts and phone numbers you want notified when events occur.


STEP 3

  • You can also configure the notification method and whether to send notifications for each specific type of event.



3.2 Event action rules

Event handling rules allows the system to automatically execute a specified action when an event occurs, minimizing any manual work that has to be done.

  • Select [Settings] [Event Action Rules] [Add]




4. Surveillance Center Settings - Mount Recordings

You can schedule backups of recording files to MyArchive hard disks, freeing up storage space for online recordings. When you need to play back recordings, you can mount recordings from MyArchive hard disks to Surveillance Center and then quickly search and play back the recordings you need.

  • Select [Settings] [Mount Recordings]




5. Surveillance Center Settings - Login Portal

System administrators can customize the dedicated Surveillance Center login screen, allowing all users to directly log in to Surveillance Center via an individual login page for quick and convenient access.

  • Select [Settings] [Login Portal]




6. Surveillance Center Settings - CMS

CMS Lite allows surveillance professionals to have more flexibility and convenience when monitoring and playing back video. It can centralize management for up to 256 IP cameras and ASUSTOR NVRs in up to 32 different locations, significantly enhancing management efficiency.

  • Select [Settings] [CMS]




7. Surveillance Center Settings - Advanced Settings


7.1 Advanced system settings

You can access Surveillance Center's advanced settings by selecting [Settings] [Advanced Settings].

  • Here you can configure the maximum length of each recording and pre-recording and post-recording for events. *1
  • You can also configure whether or not you want to set a storage quota *2 and how the system will respond when maximum storage capacity is reached.
  • Surveillance Center's RTSP Server streams live video and audio content from IP cameras over the Internet via the industry-standard RTSP protocol.
  • You can click the button below to generate Surveillance logs for diagnosis.


Note:

  1. If you are using Alarm or Motion Recording it is recommended that you use the "Pre-recording/Post-recording" function in order to avoid omitting the capture of critical video because of network delays.
  2. It is recommended that you enable the "Storage Quota" function in order to avoid having your NAS's storage volumes occupied by your recorded video files.
