Why is the volume status degraded?
The NAS volume status is indicated as "degraded" due to one or more of the following reasons:
1. **Hard Drive Failure**
One of the drives in the RAID array has failed or is no longer functioning correctly. In a RAID setup, the failure of a single drive can cause the entire volume to enter a degraded state.
2. **Drive Disconnection**
A hard drive may have become disconnected or is not properly seated in its bay. This can occur due to physical disturbances or loose connections.
3. **Sector Errors**
One or more drives may have developed bad sectors or other read/write errors that have led to the RAID controller marking the volume as degraded.
4. **RAID Rebuild Interruption**
If a RAID rebuild process was initiated and then interrupted or failed, the volume can enter a degraded state.
You can check the above scenarios on the ADM-Storage Manager-Volume page.
