Q: What is the difference between the iSCSI LUN thin provisioning option enabled and disabled?

2024-12-03

The difference between the iSCSI LUN thin provisioning option enabled and disabled lies in the ability to expand the LUN capacity and the iSCSI LUN snapshot support.

With the thin provisioning option enabled, the iSCSI LUN can be configured with any desired capacity and expanded up to 96000GB (96TB) in the future. The iSCSI LUN snapshot function is optional.

With the thin provisioning option disabled, the LUN capacity is fixed after it is created, and the maximum LUN capacity that can be configured is 15360GB (approximately 16TB). iSCSI LUN snapshot is not supported.
