ADM now comes with a brand new toolbar for ADM 5.0 Beta. The toolbar can now be placed at either the top or the bottom of the page. In addition, the toolbar can be set to automatically hide when not in use on desktop platforms.
When logging into ADM using computers with screens of different sizes and resolutions, the login page now automatically adjusts the layout according to the orientation and screen resolution. Displaying ADM on a vertical screen is no longer a problem.
Storage Manager on ADM 5.0 Beta improves how storage is displayed. ADM 5.0 Beta comes with new desktop icons and consolidates numerous settings for an even simpler experience in line with ASUSTOR’s commitment to perfecting ADM.
The all-new ADM Defender provides preset and customizable firewall profiles. Intelligent security protection can proactively prevent suspicious IP addresses from connecting to your NAS. ADM can also monitor network transmission packets to intercept suspicious network activities. The new design makes it easier to enable the firewall and additional security protections. ADM Defender proactively prevents suspicious connections, which can help further reduce the risks of malware and attacks to further improve data security.
Logging into an ASUSTOR NAS using SSH means you can exercise full control over your NAS and operate more advanced functions. Enabling SSH keys can improve the security of using SSH while also making it more convenient. SSH keys replace passwords and are much more secure than passwords. Generate different keys for different administrator accounts and save the private keys in an SSH client while disable password authentication, greatly improving the security of SSH connections.
OpenSSL has been updated in ADM, bringing improved security for SAMBA connections, FTP connections, Rsync server and web servers. OpenSSL updates also bring improved performance and compatibility, ensuring that encrypted connections are both fast and safe.
ADM 5.0 Beta brings a new version of Samba. With the new version of Samba, SMB Multichannel is no longer experimental and brings new performance enhancements, additional security and is much more stable than ever before. Combine two, three or four Ethernet ports on your ASUSTOR NAS with your computer to receive up to double, triple, or even quadruple performance respectively for maximum speed.
ADM 5.0 Beta has been upgraded to Linux kernel 6.6 LTS. Kernel 6.6 LTS introduces numerous security patches that help make ASUSTOR NAS devices safer than ever. Kernel 6.6 also continues to enhance ADM performance and stability, while also adds compatibility with even more hardware for maximum flexibility.
Install the new Text Editor from App Central to add or edit various plain text files on ADM 5.0 Beta. There is no need to download or create text files on a computer or phone for editing when your NAS is able to do it.
